Hello everyone!
First off, welcome to my first official blog post on Pillow Talk Studios official website. Took a while to get here due to some roadblocks along the way, BUT, I am here and I am planning on blogging a lot here!
In 2012 I went to the Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna, BC, where I received my diploma in digital photography. From there I began to build my business as Cierra Carlyle Photography. For years I focused on weddings, families, newborns, real estate, really a mash of everything. I had done some boudoir in the past but during that time I was also trying to find where I belonged in this industry. One by one I crossed off different types of photography off my list. Besides weddings and engagements, which are another true love of mine, I really didn’t know where I stood with my career.
Over the last year, boudoir photography has literally changed my life.
It took one amazing shoot last winter for me to decide this was my calling. I know that may sound tacky but it’s totally true. From there it was all about restarting a business as a boudoir photographer. Last fall some friends helped me come up with Pillow Talk Studios. Since then I have spent weeks coming up with Pillow Talk Studios as a brand.
It’s been a slow process but only because this has taken off much faster then I ever could have imagined. I started off this January with a beautiful bathtub series. That series sparked inspiration to totally redo my studio space. I spent a few months sourcing new furniture, scouring Facebook Marketplace, searching the web for inspiration. The new paint went up a few weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier. It’s not completely done for now but the mind of an artist can never rest, especially when it comes to redecorationg.
I can’t wait to blog and show you all what happens next in my journey.
